Manufacturing laboratory at Marxer Products, Ivrea, Piedmont region, northwestern Italy (circa 1963).
Most noticeable due to its in-situ concrete brises-soliel, the labs for Marxer Products were built and finished entirely using exposed natural concrete. Particular attention was paid to the brises-soliel during construction. It was all cast in 1 inch thick timber forms, carefully planed to give a perfectly smooth surface, and treated with a demoulding product. Also of architectural note are the sculptural rainwater spouts along the parapet wall. The complex was designed by Alberto Galardi.
