Stockwell Bus Garage, Stockwell, London (circa 1953).

Designed by Adie, Button and Partners in collaboration with engineer A E Beer, the bus station was built from 1950 to 1952. The vast, sweeping arch across the garage was something of an engineering triumph at the time. As steel was in short supply, reinforced concrete was used to create the structure. The building was designated Grade II* listed status in 1988.
